UNWIN Safety Systems is to share part of its stand at this year's Mobility Roadshow with volunteers and their dogs from the charity Pets As Therapy.
The aim is to promote the work of Pets As Therapy, and especially the joy that P.A.T dogs and P.A.T cats can bring when they visit people in hospitals, hospices, nursing and residential homes, special needs schools and many other establishments.
P.A.T dogs expected on Unwin's stand at A4 include a St Bernard, a Leonberger, an Italian Spinone, a German Shepherd, a Soft-coated Wheaten, a Bernese Mountain Dog and a cross-breed.
Gerry O'Connor, Unwin's Sales and Marketing Director, said: 'We want to help promote the huge benefits that Pets As Therapy dogs bring to the people they visit. It is heart-warming to see the reaction they get and the difference they can make to residents in a home just by walking into a room. So, come and say hello! Come and see for yourself what a pleasure it is to meet such dogs.
It would be wonderful to think that having Pets As Therapy on our stand will inspire other people to volunteer with their dog or cat so that more people in the community can benefit from the unique service of this charity. ’
These are just some of the 5,000 P.A.T. Dogs and around 100 P.A.T. Cats who bring comfort, companionship and therapy through out the UK to over 150,000 people every week .
Mobility Roadshow in Peterborough runs from Thursday, June 30th until Saturday July 2nd. Unwin will also be showing a range of products designed to help people increase their mobility, including the new removable seating fixture HAL, the revolutionary seatbelt-securing Bestvest, the powerful wheelchair-docking system Dock N Lock and wheelchair restraints including Titan and Quattro.
