HAL Lockables
Unwin Safety Systems was the first company in the world devoted to making accessible transport products and 55 years after starting out we are still innovating. New products on display in Aviemore include Easisit and HAL.
Easisit is our combined seat and wheelchair restraint, already being used by a number of UK ambulance services. Easisit is also being used in the Far East, and trialled in Scandinavian countries, Switzerland and Italy. It is also good for accessible minibus operations.
HAL stands for Hand Actuated Lockable. This quick and easy-to-use seat fixture has been selling well in Britain and big shipments have gone to Turkey, the Far East and Australia. Another large project is starting in America.
We are also showing Bestvest, a new product invented in Scotland. Motherwell father Jim Halliday wanted to help his disabled daughter Chelsea travel in greater safety and comfort. The revolutionary result was Bestvest, which secures a seatbelt on the shoulder and can be used by anybody aged five and over. Unwin has the world distribution rights for Bestvest to the disabled and community transport markets.
Unwin’s powerful wheelchair restraint system Quattro is also on display.
In March, Unwin won the Community Transport Association’s award for Best Exhibitor at Access11 in Manchester. We don’t have the same big stand at Aviemore but we most certainly give the same big welcome to friends old and new.
Sales and marketing director Gerry O’Connor and area sales manager Darren Brooke look forward to seeing you.
UNWIN Safety Systems will be mixing and matching at APSE Aviemore 2012, Scotland’s largest public sector Fleet, Waste and Grounds Services Exhibition.
