ORDERS are surging for Unwin Safety Systems’ innovative Dock N Lock system.
Dock N Lock means a powered wheelchair can be steered in to a vehicle and then fixed so securely via a bracket to the floor that the person in the wheelchair can drive.
Sales through Gleneagles Conversions in Scotland have tripled compared with last year, while through Sirus Automotive in the Midlands they have quadrupled
Vicky Crees, Sales & Marketing Director at Sirus Automotive, said: ‘Dock N Lock has given us greater scope for fitting wheelchairs into cars, so we can help a wider range of customers. It’s particularly good for wheelchairs with less ground clearance, and it’s relatively easy for our engineers to fit because the bracket is specific to the type of wheelchair. This cuts down fitting time and saves labour costs’.
Other converters across the country have also begun to install Dock N Lock and get excellent feedback from their customers.
Andrew Creese, chief executive of Unwin Safety Systems, said: ‘Converters have always liked Dock N Lock because it’s quick to install.
Now more buyers are choosing Dock N Lock because it’s strong, quick and easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing.
Dock N Lock is Motability-approved. It is still the only single-point docking system that holds wheelchairs weighing up to 200kg.
